CoolSculpting – The Coolest Fat Reduction Treatment in Houston
Friendswood, Pearland and the rest of the Clear Lake area have a cool new option for stubborn fat loss. Reclaim your figure and get rid of those stubborn “love handles” that won’t go away with diet and exercise alone.
Unlike surgery and other non-invasive methods of fat reduction, Coolsculpting uses cooling technology to destroy fat cells and restore your shape. That means your jeans fit better, and that little black dress flatters your curves the way it should.
Coolsculpting treatments can be done in a couple of hours or less, with no recovery time, and no restrictions to your activity. The results of Coolsculpting are gradual, so your new body will take shape over the course of 3 to 8 weeks. It’s a simple procedure with dramatic results.
Fat Loss Results With CoolSculpting
Several days after the CoolSculpting procedure at our Med Spa in Friendswood, the cooled fat cells begin a process called “apoptosis” and begin to shrink. These damaged fat cells are slowly digested over the next few months by our bodies and removed through the liver. Coolsculpting is highly effective and is producing consistent results for local areas of fat like the love-handles and spare tires, though larger areas of fat may require more invasive treatments. Ask your our in-house plastic surgeon, Dr. Chaudhari, what areas should best be treated with the CoolSculpting device.
Ideal Coolsculpting Candidates
The best candidate for Coolsculpting is someone who is in relatively good shape, but has modest areas of fat bulges that they’d like removed. Some of the most common areas of stubborn fat that can be helped by Coolsculpting include the upper and lower abdomen (spare tires), the flank areas (love-handles), the upper arms (bat-wings), and inner thighs.
The CoolSculpting Technique
CoolSculpting™, developed by Zeltiq Aesthetics, Inc., is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the non-invasive reduction of fat.The Zeltiq Coolsculpting procedure should be performed in a doctor’s office, preferably under the supervision of a plastic surgeon. There is no anesthesia needed and no recovery time. During the CoolSculpting procedure, your tissue is drawn into a small chamber with mild vacuum pressure. As the procedure begins, patients may experience a slight discomfort from the contact of the cold, which usually goes away after the first 10 minutes or so. After the treatment is completed, patients may immediately return to their normal activities including work and exercise. There is no pain and no downtime.
How CoolSculpting Works
The cells in our body react to heat or cold at different temperatures levels. The research performed by Zeltiq into CoolSculpting has helped us better understand what these levels are so we can use changes in temperatures to achieve body contouring through fat reduction. The device presses against the area to be treated and then become cold enough to affect only the fat cells in that area. The fat cells are reduced through a process called “Cryolipolysis” and the body reacts with an inflammatory response which causes the body to naturally dispose of the damaged fat cells. Since fat cells don’t regenerate, we see a significant improvement in the shape of the body that lasts a lifetime.
Possible Side Effects of Coolsculpting
Side effects of Coolsculpting are usually mild and related to the cold of the device which subside within 10 minutes. Skin may be red for several minutes to several hours, but usually resolves shortly after the procedure. Other side effects may include temporary bruising, tingling, tenderness, temporary dulling of sensation or cramping. All of these side effects are considered mild and generally well tolerated.
